Some interesting upcoming events, all for a good cause and providing great community entertainment and benefit.
First up is Christina Ashbrook to talk about “Boots & Bourbon“, a fund raising event for Stinson Neurology Foundations. Christina and her associates do some amazing things for families going through some very difficult times. I met many of these dedicated folks at celebration of life for a dear friends mother. I can’t wait to help with hosting and sharing my Bourbon enthusiasm!

Later in the program my friend Korleone Young will be in studio with me to talk briefly about his brief but illustrious NBA basketball career and how he has taken his life journey and turned it in to an organization that does amazing mentoring and guidance for young Wichitans
Korleone is one of just 41 basketball players to go from high school to the NBA. We’ll talk all about Wichita, biddy ball, his career growing up in town, playing at east, playing at Hargrave academy then making the decision to jump to the pros. We talk about his time in the NBA, time overseas, NIL, and the one and done rule that often brings up his name. For an even deeper look at his inspiring story, I highly recommend his book One and Done. Get a copy NOW!
Born in Wichita, Kansas, in 1978, the 6-foot-7 forward was a blue-chip recruit who bypassed college to enter the 1998 NBA Draft, where he was selected by the Detroit Pistons.
Korleone is an intregal part of the 2026 First Responders luncheon, June 6th, 10:30-2:00 p.m. at the Kansas Masonic Lodge, 130 N. Topeka here in Wichita. This benefit is for all first responders. It’s a BBQ lunch featuring hot dogs, hamburgers and all the fixins. First responders wheather off duty or on, can drive through or use the picnic area.
