This includes research and clinical laboratory testing, in-vitro diagnostic product support and pharmaceutical clinical trials. He now works to educate people on the utilization of laboratory testing in the diagnosis, prognosis, prediction of risk and the management of clinical disease states.

    In 2009, Gordon, together with Dr. Barry Sears from ZoneLabs in Marblehead, MA, established Inflammatory Markers Laboratory in Marblehead, MA.     Jan 19 – The Dancing Yak

    My first guest this week is Jaime Lovell.  We meet at the Murray’s Cheese Counter at the Andover Dillons several weeks ago.

    Jaime asked the cheese gal behind the counter about Memolette, a very tasty cheese with an interesting production twist.  I told her that she and I are the only ones in the store who know how Memolette is made and the conversation began.  Jamie is a cheese lover, but more importantly she makes cheese…YAK cheese.  Of course that begs the questions where does one get YAK milk here in Kansas.  Easy answer, she raises YAKS.  Along with other wild life at her farm in Rock Kansas affectionately called “The Dancing Yak“.

    Jaime says: “The first time I discovered yaks I was hooked. I knew that this was the direction I wanted to take my life. Raising an animal that has a small footprint on the environment, amazing fiber, and is the healthiest red meat out there. We branched out and now we are raising yaks, American Guinea Hogs, free range chickens and ducks.”

    We will be tasting some fine cheese made from Yak milk as well as some Memolette.  Don’t forget, January 20 is not only the Super Bowl but it’s also National Cheese Day…celebrate appropriately.
