Susan Peters
We begin this show with a slight variation on the Food, Wine & Fun concept. My guest is longtime television newscaster and champion of all things Wichita Susan Peters. After retiring from TV Susan continued her “Susan’s Kids” program that helps find homes for young folks. And now you will see her on in all forms of media helping kids find homes. Her energy and enthusiasm is contagious…maybe you can help! www.susanskids.org

Hundreds of Kansas children are looking for a family. A home where they can feel safe. A place where somebody cares. A place they can call home, forever.
As they get older, their chances of being adopted plummet. When they turn 18, that’s it. No more funding. No more guidance. No support network. No more roof over their heads. Children with multiple siblings, older children and those with special needs face the toughest odds.
Susan Peters wants to make sure that doesn’t happen. She wants to make sure every child has the opportunity to experience a family they can call their own, a sense of belonging, encouragement, support and love. Throughout her career, Susan has made it a priority to give back to the community, and her weekly segments highlighting kids in need of adoption have truly made a difference.
Now, she is taking that commitment to the next level as she transitions into life post- broadcast journalism. Helping these kids is what she truly wants to do. Her heart is as big as her reputation and her energy is as infectious as it is unstoppable.

In the second half I’ll be talking to Chester’s Chef/Owner Bobby Lane about the latest edition of the “Pop Up” Restaurant to be featured in Chester’s private dinning room overlooking the lake. It’s an Italian restaurant with a unique and creative menu, special wines and a great Italian atmosphere. www.chesterschophouse.com
It all happens on Sundays from now through March. The pop up restaurant isn’t BIG, but you can order off the Italian menu from the bar area as well.
