Good Life Guy’s Wine of the Week:
2021 Domas Aurea Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile
The 2021 Domus Aurea Cabernet is a medium-plus bodied wine with a complex aroma of cedar, blackberries, cassis, baking spices, and eucalyptus. Some say it’s one of the world’s great Cabernets and a wine in a category of its own. ABV14.5%
Wine Spectator 92

The Domus Aurea is produced by the Peña family at Viña Quebrada de Macul in Chile’s Maipo Valley. The vineyard is located on the foothills of the Andes Mountain Range and is known for its complex, gravel-based soils. This wine is considered one of the first cult, collectible wines from Chile. The wine immediately captured the attention of wine critics and has occupied a leading role in Chile’s recent wine history while gathering scores in the upper 90s since its 1996 debut.
