My first guest this week is Deborah Kesten, co-author with Larry Scherwitz of “Whole Person Integrative Eating – A Breakthrough Dietary Lifestyle to Treat the Root Causes of Overeating, Overweight, and Obesity.”

Winner of the 2020 Book Excellence Award in the Health Category

A Holistic, Science-Backed Program to Help You Build a Healthier Relationship to Food, Eating and Weight!

Do you suffer from chronic overeating and have concerns about your weight?  Are you looking for a scientifically sound way of eating to prevent, even reverse, food-related chronic conditions, such as obesity, heart disease, depression and more?  Are you ready to treat the root causes of being overweight and pave the way to a happier and healthier relationship to food, eating, and weight?  This book is for you.

Holistic nutrition researcher Deborah Kesten, M.P.H., and behavioral scientist Larry Scherwitz, Ph.D., offer documented proof that it is possible to overcome overeating and being overweight by nourishing yourself multi-dimensionally each time you eat. Combining ancient food wisdom with groundbreaking modern science, Whole Person Integrative Eating empowers you to discover the reasons you overeat and gain weight – while offering the Whole Person Integrative Eating (WPIE) antidotes: physical, emotional, spiritual and social nourishment.

Through a powerful self-assessment quiz, you’ll identify your overeating styles, then build a personalized plan to create a new, healthy way of eating. Plus, you’ll discover 30 delicious recipes based on the Whole Person Integrative Eating program to jumpstart your optimal-eating efforts.

Whole Person Integrative Eating is not a diet you will go on…and then off. It is a scientifically sound dietary lifestyle designed to be practiced for a lifetime. WPIE will inspire you to transform your relationship to food, eating, and weight by empowering you to discover true nourishment-physical, emotional, spiritual, and social-each time you eat…for life.

In the second half I’ll be talking to a talented inventor/Entrepreneur, Kendall Buck.  This Stetson University student has invented a simple yet unique kitchen tool for anyone who uses fresh herbs.  The Herbie Rake is a handy way to strip fresh herbs off of the stems.
Kendall’s KickStarter site.

Kendall says: “For those of you who use fresh herbs, you know it is a tedious task to have to individually separate each leaf from the stem. In fact, it can discourage people from using fresh herbs altogether. My name is Kendall Buck and the first product I have designed is Herbie Rake. Herbie Rake is an easy to use kitchen tool that makes cooking fun and efficient.”  Get one NOW at www.herbierake.com

I’ll tell you all about Kansas Day January 29th and how you can get involved.
Kansas Day is a holiday which is celebrated every year on January 29th. The purpose of this holiday is to commemorate the 1861 admission of Kansas into the United States. It is also a holiday which allows citizens of Kansas to rejoice and take pride in the state in which they live. This holiday has been celebrated since the 19th century.

This year, Kansas Day will be a celebration of everything that makes Kansas special. Please join the Kansas Tourism Division in celebrating Kansas Day by posting your own tribute to the 34th state to your Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.  Learn more here.

The Kansas state motto To The Stars Through Difficulties lives beyond the state seal. It is emblazoned on our souls. It is the thread that connects the fabric of Kansas. We were made by hands that toiled in the unforgiving land and forged on the belief that freedom is our greatest calling. We celebrate everyone and everything that makes Kansas. The Kansas experience is a salute to the real, to the rowdy, to
the wide-eyed wanderer. To the stars.  Visit www.travelks.com

No Virtual Wine Tasting this week, transitioning to once or twice a month!
NEXT VIRTUAL TASTING WILL BE
FEBRUARY 6TH –  4 wines from Decoy

Good Life Guy’s Wine of the Week:
2015 Matthiasson Family TENDU California White Wine
This Vermentino-driven white blend is rounded out with French Colombard and Chardonnay. This wine is racy, tart, and refreshing with mouthwatering (and thirst quenching) acidity. Bright, fresh, and dry, this wine is meant to be enjoyed in its youth and would be a delight on a warm day served with lighter fare or enjoyed on its own.  This wine is a great value from a great winemaker and made with fruit sourced from some great vineyards in California.
69% Vermentino, 27% French Colombard, 4% Chardonnay  ABV11.7%
