Joining me this week, LIVE in-studio is Wichita’s own Denise Neil of Wichita Eagle Fame. If you haven’t heard, Denise has added yet another great accomplishment to her resume, AUTHOR!  You of course know her as the Eagle columnist and blogger who does “Dining with Denise” that’s so very popular.  Now with this book Classic Restaurants of Wichita she brings history to life with an in-depth look at some of Wichita’s finest restaurants from the past.

She’s been working on this exciting project for more than a year, and can now share some details.  The book titled “Classic Restaurants of Wichita,” will be published this August by Arcadia Publishing’s The History Press (the same group that put out Joe Stumpe’s book “Wicked Wichita” back in 2018.)

The book, which will feature close to 100 images, offers profiles of Wichita’s gone-but-never-forgotten restaurants, starting in the 1870s when Wichita was founded and spanning all the way to the late 1980s with the addition of places like of Pasta Mill, Willie C’s, Amarillo Grill and more.

Follow Denise on Twitter and Facebook

We’ll tell you all about the book, where she will be doing book signings and how you can get a copy.  Will also be talking about some of the latest Chef moves here in Wichita.  You don’t want to miss this show.  Get a copy NOW.

Good Life Guy’s Wine of the Week:
2020  Tenuta Sant’Antonio SCAIA white blend

The Scaia project was launched by Tenuta Sant’Antonio in 2006 with the aim of creating wines with a modern style outside the restrictions of the denomination system. This wine is a blend of 55% Garganega, the grape variety used to make Soave, and 45% Chardonnay. The vineyards are located near the Soave area. The Scaia wines are very fruity and fresh, for young consumers or for those who want something different.

This wine is fresh, crisp and delicious with ripe fruit and bold flavors perfect for hot summer entertaining.  It’s perfect as an aperitif or goes with an array of fine foods.  Pair this wine with fresh seafood and pasta, chicken piccata or pizza margarita.  Find this snazzy white wine at Jacob Liquor Exchange on North Rock Road. 🙂
