Today it’s all about Chef Jason Paul Febres of Wichita’s Taste & See

The first time I met Chef Jason I was impressed!  He comes to Wichita 9 years ago as a trained Chef who speaks no English.  He has family roots here, born in Wichita but taken back to Venezuela at the age of two, he longed to explore those roots and bring his culinary style and enthusiasm to the USA.  Lucky us…

Award-winning Executive Chef Jason Febres is a native of Caracas, Venezuela but proudly calls Wichita, KS home. He prepares dishes inspired first and foremost by his mother, from travels around the world and then by his years of training from three top culinary schools.

Through the years his menus have been focused on the idea of simple, healthy and incredible-looking food presentation. His first cooking experiences started when he was just 13 years old and his official career started when he was 15!  He brings 15 years of culinary experience to Taste & See.

He is passionate about International Fusion cusine and through Taste & See has brought a culinary vision like no other with a true International flare offered to his guests to please the curious and maximize everyone’s dining experience. Chef Jason developed a very personal and unique style that shows through his gastronomic creations. Perhaps you could find yourself sampling a Peruvian-Vietnamese-Louisiana influenced recipe one of these days all in the same dish.

In addition to his amazing gift to create sensational culinary creations, his outgoing personality and serving heart makes him the perfect host.

Good Life Guy’s Wine of The Week:
2010 Francis Coppola Diamond Cabernet
100% Cabernet aged 11 months in French and American oak.   The Ivory Label Cabernet Sauvignon combines fruit from appellations as far north as El Dorado and as far south as Paso Robles where some of the vineyards experience diurnal temperature extremes, which slows the ripening process and enhances the rich, succulent flavors of the fruit, as well as the complexity of the palate.

In 2010, fruit was harvested weeks later than normal due to the chilly spring and mild summer months. Because the fruit wasn’t picked until well into the fall, the grapes received extended hangtime on the vines, which resulted in greater concentration and rich flavors. This Cabernet exhibits a velvety mouthfeel, moderate tannins, luscious fruit and intriguing notes of spice and oak.  A great value wine that  over delivers!

Taste this wine FREE Noon-7:00 p.m. Saturday at Jacob Liquor Exchange
North Rock Road & 29th 🙂    You’ll Wanna GetYaSum!
