A great show from Napa & Sonoma!

Kerrin Laz and her partner

First up is Kerrin Laz, the Wine Director for Dean & DeLuca Wine.  Kerrin concentrates her efforts on product selection for the company both domestically and internationally and has become an integral member of the most established and up-and-coming star vintner community.

As Wine Director for DEAN & DELUCA, Kerrin concentrates her efforts on product selection for the company both domestically and internationally and has become an integral member of the most established and up-and-coming star vintner community. Her palate rivals some of the most esteemed wine critics for California wine and has earned her access to the best of the new introductions in the California wine world. Kerrin is also a freelance journalist for Edible Communities Publication and since 2007 and has been a judge on the wine panel for the Food & Wine Magazine’s American Wine Awards.

The wines she sources are some of the finest produced and are very limited, hard to find wines, many from the most famous cult producers.  Learn more and sign up for Kerrin’s email list: www.deandeluca.com/wine

In the second half I’ll be talking to Co-owner & Winemaker/General Manager; Mike Sullivan.

Mike Sullivan

Mike Sullivan is wine country through and through. He grew up in the Russian River Valley area and received his degree in fermentation science at Fresno State. He became passionate about wine, particularly Pinot Noir, when he tasted great red Burgundies and later California Pinots.

We will taste several of Mike’s wines from the Russian River Valley.  All these wines are exceptional and offer some of the finest expressions of this spectacular Sonoma AVA.  Benovia wines are not yet available locally here in Kansas but can be ordered through their great web site:  www.benoviawinery.com

Good Life Guy’s Wines of the Week:
2010 Benovia Russian River Chardonnay
This wine is bursting with aromas of lemon custard, white peach and Asian pear. The lively aromatics are followed by equally intense flavors and an elegant finish. Barrel fermentation and oak aging for 14 months have added hints of vanilla bean, roasted hazelnut and baking spice to this complex and intriguing wine.
